Water Quality Testing

Water Quality Testing for Residential, Business or Domestic Wells.

The list of items that can be analyzed for "water quality" is quite extensive, running into thousands of dollars.  But, some of the most common analyses we do at FGL are provided in the following packages:  You will notice some of these are "bundled" analyses that save hundreds of dollars over doing them individually.  These packages will give you varying levels of information about your water quality.

Water Quality Testing Packages

Nitrate (NO3)
Commonly found in fertilizers
Total Coliform and E.Coli Bacteria, present/absent
An initial look for elevated levels of bacteria

PACKAGE 2 - $450
Testing for common contaminants and minerals

Analyses
General Mineral
Alkalinity, Boron, Calcium, Carbonate, Chloride, Copper, Aggressive Index, Bicarbonate, Fluoride, Foaming Agents, Hydroxide, Iron, Langlier Index (corrosivity), Magnesium, Manganese, Nitrate, Nitrite, pH, Potassium, Sodium, Sodium Absorption Ratio, Electrical Conductivity (salts), Sulfate, Total Dissolved Solids, Total Hardness, Zinc
Volatile Organic Compounds
From dry-cleaning fluid to gasoline to paint thinners, VOCs are common contaminants in groundwater.

PACKAGE 3 - $265
Testing for more specific contaminants

Analyses
Perchlorate
Found as an impurity in hypochlorite solutions used for drinking water treatment and nitrate salts used to produce nitrate fertilizers, explosives, and other products.
Gross Alpha Radiation
The first step to seeing if radiochemicals are a concern. If gross alpha particles are found at heightened levels, other radiochemical analyses will be suggested.
1,2,3-Trichloropropane
Among the more recent health concerns as stated by the State Water Board of CA. chemical found at industrial or hazardous waste chemicals found at industrial or hazardous waste.

Drinking water, including bottled water, may reasonably be expected to contain at least small amounts of some contaminants.  The presence of contaminants does not necessarily indicate that water poses a health risk.  More information about contaminants and potential health effects can be obtained by calling the U.S. EPA’s Safe Drinking Water Hotline (1-800-426-4791).
